A Book Launch Invitation Plus Nonfiction Readalouds #ClassroomConnections

October 27, 2021 By Laura

Yesterday was the book birthday for my newest book, If You Want to Knit Some Mittens (Boyds Mills). Whee! On November 3, at 7pm Central Time, illustrator Angela Matteson and I will be joining Red Balloon Books for a launch party, and you’re invited!

Those 2 charming painted mini-tiles you see, painted by Angela Matteson, are one of the prizes, and a 45-minute Zoom with me for you or your classroom or your writing group is the other prize. This event is free, but you do have to register. Here’s more info. (And if you order a copy through Red Balloon, I can go by and sign it for your or whoever you’re giving it to.) I hope you can come, and I’d also be super grateful if you help spread the word about the event. Thank you :>)

Also, Lerner Books is offering Nonfiction November. Sign up and you’ll receive links to nonfiction readalouds for every school day in November. Most of the books are read by the authors–your students will love this! One of my books is featured for Friday, November 5, and the whole month is a stellar line-up. You can learn more and sign up here.

[My Classroom Connections posts share a way to connect one of my books or poems to a classroom topic–often something timely that you might be covering in the next month or so. Please share this post if you have educator friends who might be interested–thanks!]
