I got an envelope from Boyds Mills Press on Saturday, and I opened it to find an advance copy of their Spring 2019 catalog. And guess what’s on the cover (which was a wonderful surprise to me!)?
That’s right! It’s art by the wonderful Angela Matteson, and it just happens to be the cover art for one of my spring titles, In the Middle of the Night! Maybe you recognize her artistic style from the lovely work she did in Jane Yolen’s and Rebecca Kai Dotlich’s Grumbles from the Town? I’m just thrilled with our book, and I can’t wait to share more about it with you, closer to the release date. Meanwhile, it’s already available on pre-order from Amazon, if you’re interested. The poems share the nighttime adventures of your toys and household objects, and Angela brings all of these inanimate objects to life in charming, vibrant paintings!
Excuse me while I do a happy dance!
Wow, that is happy dance worthy. Can’t wait to see and read!
Congrats- that is exciting! I’ll be adding your book to my poetry library…
Thanks, Andrea!
Saah-weeet!
What fun and such a nice surprise for you!
SO, so cute. Every time I turn around you’ve got something new!
