My First In-Person Author Visits in TWO Years!

March 29, 2022 By Laura

At the end of February, I visited four elementary schools in Albert Lea, Minnesota. It was an adventurous week, with a school closing for weather, schedule changes, and rooms full of kids! Wow. It was kind of a shock to my system after two years of not gathering, but it was amazing. The media specialists, Staci Waltman and Kristen Seeger, were terrific, and they had done an incredible amount of prep with the students. Here are just a few highlights from my days there (shared with permission of the schools):

In this super short video on Twitter, kindergartners and first graders shout out “This is where we belong!” as we read our collaborative We Belong poem.

MAY NEWS

All 3 of my 2023 books are out now! Thank you to everyone who's celebrated with me, shared the books, or read/reviewed them. <3

Right now, I'm recovering from National Poetry Month! I'm also working on 2 tricky picture book revisions, and I'm preparing for a bunch of speaking events and storytimes! Join Yvonne Pearson and I for two loon-themed outdoor storytimes on June 6 and August 1. And on July 14, I'll be storying up a storm at Robert Trail Library! Hope to see you there!
