I’ve done library storytimes for years, but it’s usually just an occasional event here and there. This summer, though, picture book author Yvonne Pearson and I are teaming up to do loon storytimes at ALL 14 branches of the East Central Regional Library in Minnesota! We’re calling it For the Love of Loons, and we’ll read our loon picture books and waddle, fly, wail, and dive like loons. Lots of fun reading, singing, moving, and learning. For dates, locations and times, you can check out the listings here.
[My Classroom Connections posts share a way to connect one of my books or poems to a classroom topic–often something timely that you might be covering in the next month or so. Please share this post if you have educator friends who might be interested–thanks!]
That is great that both of you are teaming up to read your loon book and act like loons. Sounds like fun! I love acting out animals with children. It’s so much fun! Enjoy!
Thanks for all your nice words, Gail! I’m apparently going to be doing all the loon sounds for Yvonne’s picture book. NOT my strong suit, but should be good for laughs ????
Wow, a Korean-language edition of Snowman-cold = Puddle! Exciting news! Congratulations!
Yay on reading your We Belong book at three libraries! I wish I could be a fly on the wall in one of those libraries as you read your book. Enjoy!
