For the first April in several years, I’m not traveling doing school visits for 3/4 of the month! So you’d think I’d have some cool, special project for National Poetry Month here on my blog.
I am embarrassed to say I do not.
However, I do plan to highlight the wonderful offerings of other bloggers who are doing fabulous things all month! And I’ll have something poetryish every day, in one form or another.
Meanwhile, today, I am off to visit Ridgeway Community School about 3 hours from me in southern Minnesota. I’ll be doing a poetry reading for K-5 plus members of the community (yikes!), and then a poetry workshop with 4th-5th graders. It should be fun!
And I’ll leave you with a poem from my book, Fuzzy-Fast Blur: Poems About Pets:
Jumping for Joy
tail spinning, whipping,
joy meets toy in mid-air catch:
leap of summer faith

I know it’s not summer. It’s barely spring. But the picture and poem make me feel joyful, so that’s what I’m sharing today:>)
Amy at The Poem Farm has the Poetry Friday Roundup today. She just finished her last day of her poem-a-day year! Woohoo, Amy!
