Wake up your poetry brains with 15 Words or Less (guidelines here)!
This image makes me think of:
1) a conch shell
2) a star
3) clingy people
And here’s my?first draft.
Brilliant
pale bony star
of conch
glows in
ocean-sky

Now it’s your turn! Have fun and stick to 15 WORDS OR LESS!??(Title doesn’t count toward word count:>)??
P.S. I am fighting off some kind of bug that’s giving me a sore throat, a bit of nausea, and some incredibly intense body aches. I will read everyone’s poems, but I’m going to have to save my upright/keyboarding time to meet some tight deadlines today. I’m sorry:>/
Laura,
Hope you feel better soon!

That cough surely does feel like a burr in the throat sometimes (I am assuming throat from trout). Wonderful descriptions of a bad cold. Love the soft, blue tissues.
throat is what I meant thanks
Those nasty colds! Soft tissues help.

Laura, hope you win the fight! Seriously, take care of yourself and feel better soon. The color in this picture is indeed brilliant.
Cocklebur and Denim
You may think
your jeans protect
but your leg and I
will intersect.
wonderful
Ha! Love the rhyme!
They do seem vicious. Love your point of view.
Thanks Ellie. They are vicious. Family in eastern NC call them sand spurs and they hurt. I know there are different versions by different names.

I love this
Love the voice here, and the sentiment.
Nothing more healing than a hug.

Virus, virus, on the wall,
Though you are so very small,
Mighty men succumbing, crawl.
This reminded me of both a snowflake close up and a virus seen through a microscope.
Love how you saw a virus in this!
Very appropriate for the picture and any among us who are ailing.

A prick.
Oh, ick!
Ouch,
I grouch.
Remove,
improve!
No pain
remains.
I had written something like this, but I like yours better with your gift for rhyme.
I feel your pain Cindy; been there too.

So sweet!
Love that the jeans took you to blue–and the prickers to hope!

So sorry that you’re under the weather. Hope you’re feeling better soon 🙂
The Truth About Stickers
Yikes! Stickers in knickers
require sticker-pickers.
Ouch! Stickers that are prickers
require finger-lickers.
Very fun!
Penny, so cute and fun trying to recite it aloud, quickly!
Ha! So much fun to say, Penny!
Fabulous tongue-twister and that last line – exactly right.

A Matter of Perspective
Super-nova in the sky
or cockleburr on my thigh?
Your fun rhyme made me smile. Love how you’ve connected two vastly different images through Laura’s picture.

Imagine
Velcro imagined from burrs that stick
Good for fastening all things quick
Who knows from what little seed a new product evolves.
Velcro’s invention in a fun rhyme. Nice.
