Happy Poetry Friday! My daughter Maddie had lacrosse tryouts recently, and she’s going to be goalie for the varsity team. Yikes. It’s nerve-wracking watching her defend the goal–but she loves it.

And I’m over at Tabatha Yeatt’s The Opposite of Indifference with a Fictional Favorites post, where I match up three fictional characters with poems they might like. Or maybe not. Who knows? Taste in poetry is so hard to predict:>) But I can predict that April Halprin Wayland, who is over there with me, will have some cool thoughts to share. I love Tabatha’s idea for this event. How neat would it be fore students to find poems they think characters in various books they’re reading would like? I love that!

Thanks, Tabatha. She’s very excited! It’s only her second year doing lax, but they’re short on goalies and she is stepping up. Should be a fun and challenging season for her.

Laura, I hear you on the struggle to keep up. I’m feeling the same way. Even though Livejournal was a pain in some ways it felt easier (maybe just in my head) to keep track of things. I get the comments in my dashboard but once they go off the front page it’s harder to see if they’ve been answered.
Plus so many people are doing things for Poetry Month it is much busier than in the past.
Yeah, Poetry Month is fantastic! But I think we need Poetry Quarter, to spread out the goodness a bit more. I actually find it easier to keep track on comments in WordPress. Of course, eking out the time to answer them is an entirely different matter.

Cool! My middle schoolers were playing hockey in PE this week, and having such a blast. I hope your daughter enjoys her lacrosse as much!
