Hi, educator and writer friends! NCTE 2018 is almost here! I have a hotel room but have been so busy prepping for my sessions that I haven’t put in the time to find a roommate yet. Oops!
I have a hotel room at the Hyatt Regency Houston at 1200 Louisiana St., a few blocks down from the convention center. My room has two beds, and I’m looking for a roomie for Thursday-Saturday nights (or just Friday-Saturday nights). Your cost would be just under $100 per night, including fees and taxes. I’m a non-smoker, non-snorer, non-sleepwalker/talker. I tend to get up early and head out, and when I’m in the room, I’m usually having a bit of quiet down time (introvert alert!).
I’d love to find a roommate to offset some of the costs of attending the conference. Are you interested or do you know someone nice who’s looking for a place kind of–ahem–last-minute? If so, please let me know, and we’ll work things out. Thanks!
Also, below are the front and back of a postcard I’m bringing to NCTE to give away. The front is a poem I’ve shared here before, and the back is my schedule. PLEASE NOTE my first Friday session is no longer happening at that time, and I’m unable to participate in it. Everything else is correct, though!
Can’t wait to see so many friends soon! Please snag me to say hi if you see me in the halls, exhibit hall, etc.!
Laura, is “I need You Need Me” published in a book somewhere? Really lovely!
Aw, thank you, Sylvia. No, it’s not from a book. I wrote it for the Madness Poetry competition in March, and it’s called me back to it:>)
