This week’s Poetry Stretch from Miss Rumphius asks us to “write a poem that contains the five words sky, knot, fork, wall, and rose, as well as either trumpet or bullet as the sixth word.” This exercise is based on the book, I Am Writing a Poem About . . . A Game of Poetry. I only discovered that book a month or two ago because someone else blogged about it–maybe Wild Rose Reader?
Anyway, it’s a terrific book, and I enjoyed this stretch. I wrote my poem while sitting in Don Pablo’s yesterday, when I was a few minutes early for a lunch date. I love how portable poetry is!
It’s not too late to give this week’s Poetry Stretch a try. Join in!
