One Book I Love: Button Up! Wrinkled Rhymes (by Alice Schertle)

November 4, 2009 By Laura

Button Up: Wrinkled Rhymes, by Alice Schertle and illustrated by Petra Mathers, is adorable! A book full of mask poems, which I love, all told from the points of view of different articles of clothing.

I was going to share "Tanya’s Old T-Shirt," but Tricia already shared it at The Miss Rumphius Effect.

So then I was going to share another favorite, "Jennifer’s Shoes," but Elaine at Wild Rose Reader already shared that one. These ladies have great taste!

So here’s yet another poem I love from this book:

Bertie’s Shoelaces

Good old Bertie,
he lets us hang around.
It doesn’t bother Bertie
when we drag along the ground.
We’re not up tight
as our Bertie buddy knows.
We’re hang loose laces and
we don’t do bows!
