Happy Poetry Friday! (Wondering what Poetry Friday is? Click here.)
Hello! I’m on my way to Washington, DC, for the annual ALA conference! I hope to maybe see a few of you there? I’m attending to take part in the Poetry Blast, an annual poetry celebration organized by Marilyn Singer and Barbara Genco. So, Saturday at 4 p.m., if you’re in the Convention Center, please make your way to the Pop Top Stage in the exhibit hall. There are many fantastic poets reading–I can’t wait to hear them.
One poem I’ll be sharing is this riddle-ku from the winter section of Lion of the Sky:
firelight from the past–
I wink in the frozen sky
waiting for wishes

And for lots of wonderful poetry, don’t miss the Poetry Friday Roundup with the awesome teacher and creativity inspirer Linda Mitchell at A Word Edgewise!
