My anniversary is Sunday, but we’ll be cleaning and cooking for the Super Bowl that day and having people over, so Randy is taking today off work so that (after a couple of errands and can’t-skip tasks) we can spend time celebrating our 23 (gulp) years together!
Here’s a classic Randy picture (taken in the DinoSue exhibit at the Field Museum). He’s, um, kind of a ham:>)
And here we are on Valentine’s Day last year:
I stink at love poems, but this is today’s poem at Your Daily Poem (a very cool site), and I really like it:
The Unknown
by Sherry Hughes Beasley
Last night, a halo around the moon.
This morning, white stars on the window,
The boxwood, the sheet
The sun hangs through the trees
To shine, to shine with iridescence.
It’s going to snow you said,
You felt it in your bones, forty-
Year-old bones I have known
For more than half that time.
Read the last 2/3 here.
Addendum: The above link might work only for yourdailypoem.com subscribers. Not sure. If that link doesn’t work for you, then click here instead, but the poem will only be at that link today, Feb. 4. Sorry for the confusion!
Happy Anniversary, Ran. I love you!
The Poetry Friday roundup is at Dori Reads today. Go give poetry some love!
