I’ve been reading lots of animal and nature poetry books for kids lately, and here’s a poem from Nest, Nook & Cranny, by Susan Blackaby, illustrated with charcoal drawings by Jamie Hogan (Charlesbridge, 2010). These are poems about different habitats and the lives led in them. Here’s one I love:
