Stay! [15 words or less poems]

Wake up your poetry brains with 15 Words or Less (guidelines here)!

15WOLs

Sigh. I wanted to show you Jack’s trick of sitting nicely with a treat balanced on his nose. I say, “Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. OK!” And when I say OK, he whips his head around, the treat flies off, and he (sometimes) catches it. However, Jack is not behaving today. I barely got my fingers out of the way before he was flippin’ that treat! This image makes me think of:

1) those sketchy machines at some malls and Chuck E. Cheeses that do the computerized pencil sketch of you while you sit in the mini-car
2) a transporter machine, like in Star Trek and other SF story worlds, where you disintegrate and then appear somewhere else
3) a man who is constantly running so fast the whole world is a blur.

And here’s my?first draft.

  1. They say, “Sit still.”
    I do, until
    just before the snap.
    Picture mishap.

Laura, I’ve known some kids that illustrate your poem perfectly!

  3. Laura,

I loved the descriptions in your poems and how they blurred together.

    I can’t see Mommy’s face!
    It’s been too long–
    Memory’s fading.

    1. I have a cat she doesn’t like when I’m away this is wonderful and so true

  5. Work! Who, Me?

    I recline
    paws behind
    you place
    I toss
    one bounce
    into the mouth.
    I recline!

Hope you are having fun. Love your verse for this pic. Being a dog owner, I can sense Jack’s inner satisfaction as you do all the work! He doesn’t even have to grab, just needs one bounce on the hard surface.

  7. Where Have You Bine Pup?

    A Rainy City
    Scuba diving
    Exploring a rainforest
    Focal finding
    Securing of dinosaurs
    Exploring a cavern
    An Antarctica blizzard
    Jumped in a mud puddle
    To get my bone
    Bubbles ? bubbles
    Bubbles everywhere
Why did you put me in?
    In the wash tub?

I know this is way over the word count but It is what I thought of

  9. Not pebble, but kibble
    Snatched from the hand
    The student becomes the master

  11. MORNING SNACK
    A whirring of
    head shaking
    happiness as
    Fido snatches his
