Would Your Students Like to Write with Me?

January 5, 2021 By Laura

If you’d like to have an author visit, but it’s just not doable right now (for so many reasons!), check out my Small Writes video! In this first edition, I’m doing equation poems with students. You play the video, and your students write with or just after me. It’s short. It’s inexpensive. And it’s a way for your students to both write and get encouragement from an author! For more info, please visit my Virtual Author Visits page.

Not sure what equation poems are? See lots of examples from me and from student writers here. And visit the page about my book Snowman-Cold=Puddle for even more!

JUNE NEWS

Like a phoenix (except more loon shaped), the loon storytime featuring Laura Purdie Salas and Yvonne Pearson rises again! Come join us on Tuesday, June 6, at 2 p.m. We'll be at the Nordic Center at Lake Elmo Regional Park, ready to read, sing, and walk like loons! More info at the Washington Co. Library website.

LOTS of family stuff going on this month. Some of it's bad, like Covid and other unwelcome things, and some of it's great, like our daughter Maddie moving back to the U.S.! With all the extra things to do, I'm struggling with writing time. Things will calm down. Right?
