Hi, teacher and writer friends. I got lots of lovely feedback and questions when I shared a poem draft last week inspired by my January experiences of writing alone together. Since my One Little Word this year is DARE, I’m trying something (to me) daring.
I’m hosting two free Write Alone Together events on Zoom this month. If they go well, I might actually try doing this as a recurring inexpensive event for writers and teachers. We’ll see. But first, I’m just trying it out. If you’re interested in writing with me, here’s the basic info.
Write Alone Together in February
Cost: FREE
Date and Times:
- Feb. 17 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. CENTRAL time (60 minutes)
- Feb. 22 from 10:30-noon CENTRAL time (90 minutes)
Where: On Zoom
How do you sign up? Click here to register for either or both dates. The events are free, but I’m requiring registration for security purposes.
This isn’t a critique group. It’s an opportunity to nurture your creative side and also embrace a supportive community of writers. It doesn’t matter if you’ve ever published anything or not. Let’s connect with the “slim silver intent” of taking time to create.
There will be encouragement. There will be optional writing prompts. There will be a bit of time to talk with other people at the end. Mostly, there will be a slice of your day to write and focus on yourself and your creativity. You deserve it!
Hope to see you there! And please feel free to share this post with writer friends and teacher colleagues :>)
Yay! Thank you, Laura. It sounds like fun!
I would love to do this but unfortunately the times don’t work for me with small children and distance learning 🙁 Good luck, everyone!
I can’t attend these, but I’d love to attend future ones! (Working Monday, and today still recuperating from yesterday’s COVID shot). Thanks for offereing them!
