At Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan
Celebrations of books, readers, and writers rock! It’s always rewarding to speak at library events, book festivals, and other public happenings related to literacy (or to the content of one of my books). I offer family storytimes, presentations about my writing journey, hands-on workshops for young or adult writers, and various other programs. I generally tailor my presentations to work within the event’s overall theme and schedule. Here are some of the sessions I’ve done:
- toddler storytime
- interactive poetry reading for preschoolers
- family reading nights at elementary schools
- nature poetry writing workshop for elementary students
- reading of Water Can Be… at a county-wide Earth Day event
- speaking on a panel at a library event featuring Minnesota Book Award winners
- large-group poetry-writing session for all ages
Want to hear a bit of my speaking style? Here I am sharing my spring 2019 poetry books with educators at the Poetry Round Up of the Texas Library Association. (This is not a workshop–more of a booktalk.)
If you’re planning an event, I’d love to hear from you. Just click on the peach envelope button at the top of the screen to send me an email. Tell me a little bit about your event, what you’re looking for, and what your budget is. I’ll think about what I might be able to add to your event and get back to you within a week at the most.
Thanks!
