It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA!
It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…you just might discover your next “must-read” book!
Jen Vincent (I stole the above paragraph from her) at Teach Mentor Texts rounds up the kidlit version of IMWAYR each week. It’s been a while since I participated, but I really want to share two Millbrook fall 2018 picture books I was lucky enough to snag f&gs of recently.
A Fall Ball for All – This is a delightful rhyming story by my friend Jamie A. Swenson, with gorgeous art by Chiara Fedele. After a wind storm goes through a forest, all the creatures come out to feast and celebrate. It’s a fiction story with nonfiction backmatter–and it’s so fun to read aloud!
Love, Agnes– My friend Irene Latham has a new title this fall, and it’s so fresh! It’s a combo of nonfiction, fiction, and life wisdom. It’s a fantastic, heart-filled celebration of life, annoying little brothers, crabby animals, and, of course, octopuses! But mostly life. I’ll confess that I cried a little at the ending. If you love the ending of Charlotte’s Web (and who doesn’t?), this book is for you. Enjoy the lively illustrations by Thea Baker, too.
Put these on pre-order or on reserve, because I know you’ll love both of them!
I noted these when you shared on FB, too, Laura. Both sound wonderful! I’m glad you shared more today!
Putting both on my to-read list!
These both sound wonderful! And I love the book cover of A Fall Ball for All (I feel like I could disappear into that colorful autumn scenery). Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful reading week, Laura!
I do, too, Shaye! Thanks:>)
Thanks for the heads up. I’ve added these to my must read list.
Ooh, A new Irene Latham title – I really love how supportive and encouraging the kidlit community is. Thank you, Laura, for alerting us to this. 🙂
Thank you for sharing these new titles–I didn’t know about them yet ???? Added to my TBR!
Thank you for linking up to IMWAYR ???? I love hosting this amazing community with Jen–how else would we all be able to communicate all of these must reads so easily?!?!
