Yesterday, the Cybils were announced! A huge congratulations to all the winners–you can find the complete list of winning books here. It was a treat to be on the Poetry Panel, and I want to give a special shout-out to the winner in the Poetry category:

Mirror Mirror: A Book of Reversible Verse
by Marilyn Singer, illustrated by Josee Masse
Dutton, 2010
I blogged about Mirror Mirror here and just love this beautiful, inventive collection!
And another shoutout to the winner in the Young Adult Fiction category.

Split, by Swati Avasthi
Knopf, 2010
Though I don’t read YA extensively, Swati is a Minnesota girl I met at a conference. I was excited to read her debut novel and was thoroughly impressed by its gripping story of abuse and identity and change. I blogged about Split here.
Congratulations to ALL the winners and finalists–and to all the judges! It was an honor being part of that group. Now…more books to put on reserve at the library, even though I’m currently at my 100-book limit!
