OK, sometimes my ideas are a bit strange and even, some might say, off the wall. But one of my best experiences recently has been seeing Stampede ON the wall–the picture book wall at Barnes & Noble. I have a feeling it’s only there because I’m doing a storytime there soon. But if you happen to go into a Barnes & Noble this week, will you let me know where the store is and if they have Stampede, either on the wall or on the shelf (or in their Poetry Month display)? I don’t think B&N is carrying it in general…but I would love to be wrong about that!
I was at my local B&N with my husband and was sad that Stampede wasn’t in their kids’ poetry standalone display. But then I checked out the picture book wall, like I always do, and…check out the top row toward the right end!
Yay! The customer who saw me taking pictures looked confused, but that’s ok. This was a highlight of my recent weeks!
Speaking of recent weeks, I’ve done a disastrous zoo storytime, presented a lovely indie bookstore storytime, traveled for a week of school visits, heard Jane Yolen give an excellent talk, and attended and spoken at the Loft’s Festival of Children’s Literature. So I’ll have lots of stories to tell in the next few weeks!
