More Reading

Joanna Penn of TheCreativePenn.com is a great resource for indie authors!

Here are her Top 10 Tips for Self-Publishing Books on CreateSpace.

Here’s her podcast interview with a UK indie author who writes children’s books and sells them mainly through school visits.

Jane Friedman is another terrific resource at JaneFriedman.com/.

Check out the How to Self-Publish Your Book area of her site.

Don’t miss this fantastic guest post by award-winning, very respected U.S. children’s author Darcy Pattison. This post will give you an honest look at the pros and cons, and about what it really takes to indie pub successfully (and while retaining the respect of your industry peers). If you only read one article, make it this one.

Here’s a Huffington Post by a U.S. indie children’s author (I think). Her view is perhaps a bit too rosy, but there’s some good background in this brief article, and it’s worth a read.

Design Help

99 Designs – one option for book covers. I’ve used them several times and been very happy with the whole process.

FEBRUARY NEWS

My first 2023 book is storming onto bookstore shelves this month. I'm so excited about ZAP! CLAP! BOOM!

I'm also creating promo materials, working on two board book manuscripts, and doing some work for hire to pay off Christmas bills! And I'm enjoying the lovely, snowy Minnesota winter. <3
