Usually, I love this time of year after Christmas and before New Year’s. I’ve often been thinking lots about my goals and dreams for the coming year, and this is when I put down on paper the things I commit to. The things I want to work to make come true.
This year, I’ve just been swamped and haven’t given it a second thought (other than my failed theme of 2009). This is a crazy busy week for me both at work and home, but I’m hoping to pull out my 2009 goals and evaluate what I’ve accomplished and what I haven’t and what I want to focus on in 2010. I’ll share my list later this week.
I know some people hate goals and resolutions. For me, they’re a lifeline! They usually help me stay focused. I pull out my yearly list every month or two and incorporate the things I’m working on into my monthly goals and weekly to-do lists. Without having them thought out and written down, I would just be too scattered and would spend my time working on the most urgent projects without any thought to whether they were the most important projects.
So, what about you? Are you making any goals for the new year? Any themes or writing resolutions you’d like to share? Or regular life goals?
