[See yesterday’s post for my Friday at IRA.]
Saturday at IRA, I went to a fantastic session called The Power of Poetry to Provide Teachable Moments (I’m going to do a separate post on that soon). I was with Janet Fagal, and we had a blast–and the presenters performed “The Middle’s Lament,” from BookSpeak! I was so surprised and honored! Hoping to get permission to share my video of that. Then I ate (a non-tasty) lunch with Janet at the convention center, where Children’s Poet Laureate Kenn Nesbitt and an editor from Highlights joined us. Afterward, I rushed off for a lovely signing of Water Can Be… at the Lerner booth. I zipped back to my hotel to change clothes, and then headed back to the convention center, where I met with editor Nancy Gjording from Trillium, a packager I write or copyedit for regularly. So nice to meet people in person! Here are a few pics from the day. I’ll continue with Saturday night next week…

Well, when Lerner GIVES away books, it’s not hard to gather a crowd:>) But it is certainly a nice feeling to look out and see it!
