I love it when picture books can show a harder side of the real world but in a way that’s still comforting. I wrote this poetryaction from CJ’s point of view.
And in one of those weird convergences, I was suddenly seeing Nanas everywhere (in real life and in books). Here’s another Nana to pair with this one.

I love your poetry action, Laura. Grandparents can give so much support in raising a child, sometimes as the primary caregiver. Nana’s smile is such a bright spot.
Thanks, Laura. Because I had one very long-distance grandmom and one local but…difficult…grandmom, and both my grandpas died before I was born, I have never felt that strong grandparent pull. But these books both made me feel it:>)
