Teachers, I’ve got two things for you today. First, here’s a terrific YourClassical Storytime called “Lurkey Is Lost.” It’s a fun take on the “draw a turkey using an outline of your hand” activity. Make sure to have plenty of crayons ready and paper for everyone!
Second, it’s the perfect time of year to share this poem from my (out-of-print) book of fall poetry, Shrinking Days, Frosty Nights (Capstone Press/A+ Books).
And here’s a paper you can use to have students write their own thankful poem. Frankly, just brainstorming the things we’re grateful for is such an uplifting activity!
[My Classroom Connections posts share a way to connect one of my books or poems to a classroom topic–often something timely that you might be covering in the next month or so. Please share this post if you have educator friends who might be interested–thanks!]
