Back to School Jitters?

August 30, 2023 By Laura

It’s officially back-to-school time, at least according to all the school supplies I see on shelves everywhere. (Of course, by that logic, Halloween is in early September, but whatever.)

Clover Kitty Goes to Kittygarten is all about that back-to-school anxiety that some kids feel. If you click the graphic above, you’ll find mazes, stick puppets, and other fun downloadables related to the book and to going back to school.

Also, don’t miss this fun production of Clover Kitty Goes to Kittygarten, created by Minnesota Public Radio and American Public Media. Did you know they have a huge library of monthly storytime videos, available in either audio only or in video? These are an awesome resource for your classroom! You can see the whole YourClassical Storytime library here.

Have a great start to your year!

[My Classroom Connections posts share a way to connect one of my books or poems to a classroom topic–often something timely that you might be covering in the next month or so. Please share this post if you have educator friends who might be interested–thanks!]

SEPTEMBER NEWS

Whee! It's fall, the time of fresh starts. I'm busy working with a web designer to redesign my site--yikes. That's a big project. But I started off the month with a family visit in Florida, which was great. Now I'm prepping for a fall-themed storytime at the South St. Paul Library on Sep. 26 at 10:30 a.m. Hope you can come!
