A leaf is a leaf.
It bursts out each spring
when sunny days linger
and orioles sing.
–Laura Purdie Salas, from A Leaf Can Be…
Up here in Minnesota, it’ll be a while yet before spring comes. But those of you in other areas might already be seeing buds on trees and shrubs that were bare in the winter.
Celebrate with A Leaf Can Be… as your students start to notice green busting out all over!
You can watch a read-aloud of it and try one of the MANY downloadables I have (both writing and reading) for it here. For example, this one. But I have dozens for this book! You can find them plus other activities here.
[My Classroom Connections posts share a way to connect one of my books or poems to a classroom topic–often something timely that you might be covering in the next month or so. Please share this post if you have educator friends who might be interested–thanks!]
