December is a rough time of year for anybody who’s feeling sad or left out. That makes it the perfect time to share We Belong, with its message of belonging and inclusivity.
You could also print out this lovely mini-poster and display it, using it to jump start a discussion on belonging. And if you teach in an early childhood classroom where pretend play happens, don’t forget to give kids opportunities to see themselves by providing dolls with a variety of features and skin tones. Thank you for making sure every child knows they belong!
[My Classroom Connections posts share a way to connect one of my books or poems to a classroom topic–often something timely that you might be covering in the next month or so. Please share this post if you have educator friends who might be interested–thanks!]

In your thought “I spy” kindness..
In your kindness,“I spy” Emily’s thing with feathers no longer “Apart But Part”.
In Joni’s clouds, “I spy” feather canyons and ice cream castles “perched two stories high.”.
From your perch, “I spy” flowered chair bliss.

Love this! Is that you, Carol?
