Even though I’m an introvert, I’m excited to be going to NCTE in Boston next month. And I’m SUPER excited that I’ll be presenting in a session with Matt Forrest Esenwine and Charles Waters!
Our session is called Poems and Picture Books as Writing Prompts and Conversation Starters, and we’re presenting at 8:15 am on Saturday morning. It’s going to be lovely to talk about the value of picture books and poems in deepening and strengthening your classroom communities. And we’ll do some writing, too! I’ll be featuring Finding Family and Snowman-Cold=Puddle, but the ideas we’ll be sharing will give you strategies to use with all books!
And then I’ll be at the Children’s Book Awards Luncheon, which I always love!
That’s really all that’s on my schedule. No other presenting, no signings, no events. I’ll be arriving in Boston on Wednesday, though. I’m hoping to visit at least one fabulous bakery in Little Italy and also meet up with various online friends, authors, and poets. And if the opportunity comes up to do a gathering, a signing, or something else fun, then I might add to my schedule!
If you’re going to be there, I hope to see you at our session!
In other news, Snowman-Cold=Puddle is coming out in paperback! I’m so hopeful that a more inexpensive version will entice more classrooms to read and use it. It publishes on January 14, and you can pre-order here!
