On Saturday, illustrator Kayla Harren and I read stories on the Stillwater (MN) Trolley. What a cool idea! It’s part of Valley Bookseller’s summer storytime lineup. Kayla and I shared Oskar’s Voyage, which she illustrated so wonderfully! We didn’t get any action shots because we were both sharing, but all three of us (me, Kayla, and Oskar) enjoyed the ride.
Then I shared Zap! Clap! Boom! It was great to have the kids join in. Part of the fun of sharing picture books is figuring out how kids can actively take part in the book. Here’s a little video. Zap!, by the way, is gorgeously illustrated by Elly MacKay.
And here are a few pics. You can click on the book titles above for lots of resources for you to use in your classroom or library. Can’t believe I didn’t get a pic of us enjoying our malts at Leo’s Diner!
