Nebraska Farm Bureau Guide for A Leaf Can Be…

May 15, 2018 By Laura

A Leaf Can Be... is the NFB's May Book of the Month!

A Leaf Can Be… is the NFB’s May Book of the Month!

It is always a treat when a group of dedicated educators and readers choose your book for something and love it enough to create resources around it.

I’m honored that the Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom program has selected A Leaf Can Be… as its May Book of the Month. And they made an awesome resource guide to go with it! It has super extension activities, too. I love the Farming in a Glove one!

I’ve only recently become aware of the excellent work of the National Agriculture in the Classroom program and its state chapters. My friend Tracy Nelson Maurer’s awesome book John Deere, That’s Who!  is the 2018 American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture Book of the Year! These organizations do an excellent job of connecting educators with books related to agriculture.

I hope you’ll take a moment to download the Leaf Can Be… guide and pass it along to any other educators you think might be interested–thank you!

MAY NEWS

All 3 of my 2023 books are out now! Thank you to everyone who's celebrated with me, shared the books, or read/reviewed them. <3

Right now, I'm recovering from National Poetry Month! I'm also working on 2 tricky picture book revisions, and I'm preparing for a bunch of speaking events and storytimes! Join Yvonne Pearson and I for two loon-themed outdoor storytimes on June 6 and August 1. And on July 14, I'll be storying up a storm at Robert Trail Library! Hope to see you there!
