Wake up your poetry brains with 15 Words or Less (guidelines here)!
I’m on hiatus, but I’m posting pictures on Thursdays so you all can still participate if you want to:>)
Here’s what?this picture?makes me think of:
1)?A log cabin
2) The ball pit at McDonald’s (I don’t know why)
3) Eavesdropping on my big sisters when I was a kid
And here’s my poem first draft:
Through the Cracks
I press closer.
Beyond the dry, grey fence:
My sisters
My future
Myself

TRAPPED
chink in the wall
tiny crak
just enought space
for hope
for possibilities
to fly
Always need hope.

I BUILT IT
Just a few rocks,
not much to see,
they’re stones to you…
Stonehenge to me.

I like the poem and its message.

Grass
Grass falls on stone.
Stone doesn?t stir.
Grass dries, blows away,
leaving blue shadows.

Love “blue shadows”–beautiful image.

ESCAPE
Tight, teal prison
woos me to hide,
but ocean offers
out
on the tide.

Trek to Lake Michigan
Bubbly black tar
sticks to toes;
sand burns,
hot as coals:
plunge in,
dive below.

To friends
Have you ever seen Shakespeare’s play A Midsummer Night’s Dream? They have a goofy play-within-a-play about Pyramus and Thisbe, young Greek lovers who whisper through a chink in the wall. Yours is friendlier, though. 🙂

Good morning, all. But to Laura: Oh my. Your poem took my breath away. I am in love with this one: the words, the pacing, the captured vision and memory. I see what you see through your words. Thank you.
