Hi, and welcome! During National Poetry Month, I’m posting a magnipoem each day that I can. That’s a poem inspired by my simply looking at an object under a magnifying glass for 1 minute each day, and then jotting a poem. Feel free to try this with students (you can have them just get up close and personal to something and study it closely for a minute). If you want to share online, tag me (@LauraPSalas) or share here in the comments! You can see all my magnipoems here.
Whew! I had an author visit all day yesterday, and I am wiped out! So without further ado, here’s today’s magnipoem :>) Honestly, cork just didn’t inspire me too much. But that happens with every creative process, and I think it’s important for readers and creators to know that.
And here are my notes/drafts…

Now I want to look at a cork with the ‘extra’ of bark! The interesting part, too, is the “solid, but”. These have been intriguing, Laura.
Thanks, Linda. This was a rough one for me :>D
Love that last line!
