Hello, and welcome! This is 15 Words or Less Poems, a low-pressure way to wake up your poetry brain (guidelines here), and I’m very glad you’re here.
On my way to a drum corps show a couple of weeks ago, we passed by this interesting object on the highway. Yep, that’s a giant cow butt. I don’t know where this huge heifer was headed, but we got the worse end of the view!
This image makes me think of several things:
- toys coming to life
- roadside attractions (we have many of them here in Minnesota–giant Paul Bunyans and such)
- when your dog does something wrong and tries to guiltily hide in something much too small to cover him!
And here’s my first draft.
It’s your turn! Have fun and stick to 15 WORDS OR LESS! (Title doesn’t count toward word count.)

ha! Well, you don’t see a cow butt of this magnitude every day…that’s for sure.

Tee Hee! Good one!
Hahaha–that’s going to be stuck in my head all day. (I found myself leaving out either “rump” or “roast” in the third line as I repeated the ditty, just to make it roll along more smoothly.)
Hilarious!

Ha! Loved your poem! Here’s another about a lazy cow.

Hehe–love the title too. No way to NOT read a poem after I read that title:>)

Such a cute verse Laura. As August arrives, my thoughts turn to State Fairs.

p.s. Laura I’m getting this indecipherable (to me) notice on your page:
Warning: Use of undefined constant GD_TEMP_DOMAIN — assumed ‘GD_TEMP_DOMAIN’ (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas09_data01/62/42129362/html/wp-content/mu-plugins/gd-system-plugin/includes/class-cdn.php on line 23
I’m getting that too.
Yep, working on it. Tx:)

Sorry for double-posting. It wouldn’t go the first time and I couldn’t even see the page. Just randomly tried again…ad it worked! Twice!
You know how the oxen pull weight at the fair…this is the opposite. Something is pulling him. A role reversal of sorts.
Haha–it’s their turn to ride:)
Laura, I too received the “warning” as Buffy described it. I didn’t let it stop me either, but it’s comforting to know that someone else saw it. 😉
Your picture reminded me of my oddest cow experience:
Like factory workers,
they lumbered up to the barn,
swollen utters swinging
like lunch pails.
Oh, what a visual! I remember visiting a dairy farm and being somewhat horrified by the milking machines. The whole thing was rather grotesque.
