“As soft as ocean froth.” What a lovely simile.
I like the opposite idea. When read aloud you can hear the hardness/sharpness of the letter sounds /p/, /k/, and /g/ in the first stanza, and the soft frothy /s/ sounds in the second line and /sh/ in ocean. I adore “chest as soft as ocean froth”. Wow!
