It’s International Dot Day–a great day to think about how you and your students might make your mark on the world! Read more here. Here are the two dots I’ve made in years past.
And it’s the day I’m announcing the 5 winners of signed copies of Snack, Snooze, Skedaddle: How Animals Get Ready for Winter (Lerner, illus by Claudine Gevry).
Thank you to everyone who entered! I loved reading your posts on the Padlet. I don’t really have to do a lot of winter prep, other than checking our tires, digging out scarves, and dumping out the summer flowerpots. I do a lot of thinking about my writing in the fall, as it’s my fresh start to the year, so I guess that could count as some winter prep, too:>) I so enjoyed all your thoughts and poems and pictures about your own winter preparations:>)
To choose my random winners, I entered all your names at the Wheel of Names site. Then I spun the wheel 5 times to choose the 5 winners.
Congratulations to:
Jen Floyd
Vicki Wilke
Nancy Furstinger
Keri Lewis
Michelle Schaub
If you won, please email me through the Contact page and give me your U.S. shipping address. And let me know who you’d like your copy of the book signed to! (Also, if you’re a teacher, let me know if you’d like a classroom set of 30ish or so READ bookmarks or “I Need You Need Me” poems, depending on what I have available.)
If you didn’t win, I hope you’ll still want to read the book. You can request that your library order a copy for you or you can order your own signed, personalized copy from my local bookstore, the Red Balloon. All the info you’d need for either of those options can be found here.
Thank you again, friends, for sharing in my excitement about my new book!
