Whee! I’m so glad National Poetry Month is here!
Did you play yesterday? I’d love to hear about it!
Here’s the poem I made from yesterday’s words. Short and sweet. The word “nugget” immediately caught my eye. Our younger daughter calls cute dogs and creatures “li’l nugget.”
What words will I be digging through today?
And here’s the card that I can pull my topic from:
So my possible topics are:
-
snail
-
crab
-
tortoise
-
eggs
-
shell
Will you join in? Would love to see what you come up with!

Awwww! The size of this poem is perfect for the coziness of love feeling. I feel this way about our pets. Thank you. Off to snuggle a perfect nugget now… xo, a.
I love the rich small poems you’re digging out of your sandbox of words. This is such a fun project!!! I can see losing a lot of time playing around here! Thanks!
Here’s my poem using the words posted March 31. Not sure I will be able to write every day , but I hope to be back! Topic: WISDOM
My poem:
Nugget of Wisdom?
Share some with me.
We need beauty,
majesty as perfect as pink glow
below soft smoke.
( I hope I stuck to the words in the photo from yesterday with no additions or changes, think so. I like some found poetry and playing with the ideas the scattered thoughts these words might crystallize!) Thanks, Laura.
Oh, that’s wonderful. That pink glow under soft smoke! I know what you mean–without having the words to hold physically, it might be hard to tell. But as referee, I call that it’s all fair game. If an extra word creeps in, oh well!
Oh, that little nugget of perfect! A perfect dug up poem! I, like Janet, wrote about wisdom:

I love that long in delay line, Denise. Makes me think about wisdom coming with age, which I always thought was such a cliche. But now as I get older…ha! I mean, I feel so much wiser about myself. Not like I necessarily know more about the world, which remains a mystery to me! And the prodding of those last 2 lines! Yes!
This is going to be fun, finding those “nuggets” of poetry with your words, Laura. It’s amazing what is possible with the constraints. Happy Poetry Month, Laura!
Thanks, Linda!
