I was playing with my watercolors, trying to learn how to do a wash, and I made this orangey one. Then I dropped a few drops of green to see what would happen. The little splotches reminded me of palm trees, so I added trunks.
I do not care for palm trees. Too closely associated with Florida and heat, I guess. I see tropical island travel posters and think, That would be so pretty with evergreens!
So, here’s my #poemsketch.

I’m just (coco)nuts for palm trees. They sway in a gentle breeze, and when the wind is so hard that they fold their leaves, I know I should pray too.
