This was really meant to be a poem about the scar on my knee/leg and how I don’t mind it. It’s a reminder of how lucky I am to have good healthcare and two strong legs to let me explore the world and to carry me to the people I love. But then this story from a school visit crept into my poem and wouldn’t leave!
