Thank you to all of you who stopped by during March to celebrate my launch of? A Rock Can Be…, my third and final Can Be… book with Millbrook Press! I had fun looking for rocks to fit your donated words, especially when I was traveling in Scotland and Ireland. So many amazing rocks…sigh… If you aren’t all rocked out, you can learn more about my book on my website, and if you want to review all the Rock the Blog images, click here.
And, whew! Without a moment to catch my breath, it’s time for National Poetry Month–hooray! However, I have not worked in advance, because I had a book launch, two weeks out of the country, and now our younger daughter Maddie is back home from her six months overseas. To say it’s been a busy month doesn’t begin to cover it:>)
Anyway, here’s my plan. I hope to share one quick tip about presenting poetry to students each day during month. I’ll also share a poem that I think goes well with that tip.
As I said, it’s a plan. I’ll be doing about 30 in-person events in April, plus a number of Skypes. So, if I am not able to keep on top of this, it can always? extend into May. We’ll see what happens!
Meanwhile, here are 30 Ways to Celebrate National Poetry Month from poets.org.

Hi Laura,
I have been “away” but hope to be back with my favorite people in April. I love A Rock Can Be. As I stare at some I have around my house. I also look forward to your fabulous tips and poetry shares in April and maybe into May!!! I hope Scotland and Ireland rocked as well!

I haven’t always commented, but enjoyed the month with you rocking along, Laura. And, I keep forgetting to say that (a long time ago) I did get my own copy of A Rock Can Be & it is beautiful, like the others, a treasure of thoughtful words. Happy Poetry Month-sounds so, so busy!

Thank you for a fun month Laura! Really looking forward to you April tips. The Poetry Club and my Third Grade class will be visiting to learn from your tips. Also, thank you again for the giveaways. The winners were thrilled. We had fun and I feel like the 26 people who attended will all feel a little more comfortable using poetry with their students.
Happy April!

I’m glad you were able to use the giveaways, and I KNOW you inspired some poetry love and comfort!
