One of the very best things about being an author is when your own work inspires readers to create! On Instagram over the weekend, a mom and her daughter (I think this is the relationship) shared this image:
Parla wrote that she and Brighton were inspired by an Author Access event I did with the awesome Read-Aloud Revival. They painted watercolors, and Brighton decided to create Moss Can Be…
Can you spot the things moss can be in these paintings? They created a fairy’s garden, a rainbow of green (sigh), a disguise for a secret fort, a soft pillow for a sleepy bush girl, an unhatched baby bird holder, a bug hider, and a bunny chair. What a lovely creation!
My own writing is hugely inspired by the books that touch me, and it is just the best feeling to inspire others to write and make art, too. Thanks, Parla and Brighton, for creating this and for sharing it!
PS I’ve been trying Instagram for a few months–I’m @LauraPSalas (same as on Twitter) if you’d like to connect on either platform:>)

The art Parla and Brighten shared with you — inspired by you — is inspiration alone for more poetry. What a lovely gift.
Every single thing about this is beautiful, including the words “circle of inspiration.” I am a moss fan and a Laura fan so it’s smiley over here right now. Thank you for sharing! xxx
I totally agree!
So cool that moss can be something that connects readers and you! WTG!
