I often use quotations specific to poetry, but I wanted to cast a wider net today. So where did I go to find a great quotation? To Susan Taylor Brown’s collection of quotations, of course.
“To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.”
— Joseph Chilton Pearce
This is a dictum I need stamped on my forehead. I’m generally a rule-follower in life, and I like to do things well and do them right. But true creativity demands I drop that expectation, which is a hard thing for me to do. It’s worthwhile, just hard.
What do you think? Any examples to share that agree or disagree with this?
