Celebrate the Moon with the Chinese Moon Festival #ClassroomConnections

September 23, 2020 By Laura

On October 1st, some people in China celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival. Are you celebrating with your students? Add If You Were the Moon to your party! If you’re partying at least a day early, you can catch the virtual storywalk here.

And for loads of moon activities and downloadables, check out my page for the book. Make sure to check on the Pinterest link if you want to see many other beautiful moon books, art, and projects.

[My Classroom Connections posts share a way to connect one of my books or poems to a classroom topic–often something timely that you might be covering in the next month or so. Please share this post if you have educator friends who might be interested–thanks!]

Writing Alone Together

Busy times here! I'm working on new picture books and also continuing to invite people to Write Alone Together with me. In March, it's happening on Wed., March 10, at 6 p.m. Central Time. You can sign up here for this free event!

I'm also doing some virtual author visits and Family Literacy Nights this month, and it's lovely to write poems with students again!

Hooray for creativity and connections :>)
