Guess what’s coming up on September 16? Collect Rocks Day! Personally, I think every day is a good day to collect rocks! Agates are my favorite—what’s yours? Tell me in the comments!
To celebrate, check out my readaloud of A Rock Can Be at https://youtu.be/xBuJ1Fys-9M
And on my page for the book, I have a teaching guide plus links to other activities, like Rock the Blog and a cool rock unit from Andy Plemmons.
[My Classroom Connections posts share a way to connect one of my books or poems to a classroom topic–often something timely that you might be covering in the next month or so. Please share this post if you have educator friends who might be interested–thanks!]

Laura, I love all three of your books in this series! They’re great read-a-louds and can lead to a science lesson, or a science poetry lesson, or an art/craft lesson for younger children.
Thanks so much, Gail. That warms my heart–these books were such a joy to write!
