Happy 2024! I’m SO excited to show you the cover of my first 2024 picture book.
It’s called Oskar’s Voyage, and it’s a rhyming adventure story about a small chipmunk who accidentally stows away on an enormous Great Lakes freighter. I’ll be sharing more about it soon, but it’s coming on March 5, and it features fabulous art by Kayla Harren. If you want to learn more, just click on the title. But I can tell you this will be a fun addition to classroom reading, especially if you tie it into units on boats, the Great Lakes, engineering, and homes. Yay!

Looking forward to reading Oskar’s Voyage, Laura! I didn’t see it in the Hennepin library system catalog, so I just requested its purchase.
Thank you, Sara–how lovely of you! Maybe it will inspire some little (or big!) Minnesotans to get curious about these amazing boats! Much appreciated.
Laura, what a great idea for a PB! I love your writing, voice, and photos! Your husband is funny. I have to go back to watch the videos. Oskar’s Voyage seems like a fantastic adventure book. You’re going to have so many children in suspense. Yay, Laura!
Thanks, Gail! I’m excited to read this one aloud in storytimes :>)
