Hi, teachers! This week, I’m sharing Cinderella poems from my new 30 Painless Classroom Poems book, Fairy Tale Garage Sale. Here’s one from the lady herself.
A Note from the Poet:
I love acrostics. They’re one of my favorite poetic forms. Usually, acrostic poems don’t rhyme, but I have fun playing with meter and rhyme in them. I especially had fun with castle/hassle!
[Addendum: In the printed book, the last line does not break onto a second line. But the image template I made for these poems I’m sharing wasn’t wide enough to accommodate the longer line:>( ]

Laura,
This poem was fun. I don’t blame Cinderella for selling off her time pieces. Who needs the noise pollution. 😉
I don’t even wear a watch anymore. I used to wonder how people could do that. But now, time is posted everywhere–on your phone and computer as well as appliances, dash of the car, etc.

Hi Laura,
I am LOVING this series and your ideas! I follow Colby Sharp so am excited to see his offerings for your After Ever After series. I will be sharing these titles at my session. I love how you get the Kindle version for free. I will be ordering! Clever poems and clever ideas for teachers.
Thanks, Janet! Yeah, Colby is one of those teachers you want your kids to have:>)

Good morning (brrrrr 17 degrees down south) Laura. Acrostic poetry is one of my favorites. Free verse is easier but I enjoy the challenge of using rhyme and meter without having it read as forced or contrived. No resident of a castle deserves the hassle of time restraints! Stay warm.
Brrrrrr, indeed! We’re at 10 degrees here in Mpls. I love winter, but I am feeling the cold! Yay for rhymed acrostics–I don’t see them too often. YOu stay warm, too:>)

I love this poem! I need to work on some acrostic poetry that has rhyme and meter woven in. Thanks for the inspiration!
Have fun with it, Kristi!
