  1. Look out, speed bumps ahead,
    she said, as we race
    through the snowstorm
    home.

    1. I heard that rattle/hum of speed bumps as I read this. And we got 8–10″ of snow yesterday, so it rang true. Rattled true?

  3. Xylem and Phloem

    All day
    long
    all night
    long
    trees
    silently
    suck
    and sip
    their
    straws
    of life.

    1. This is amazing. Love the form and the metaphor of xylem and phloem as straws. “straws of life” — super

    1. Love the *feeling* you packed into this totally unemotional (in a conventional way) moment. Drama. Genius.

    1. Diet Coke Slurpees while driving down the highway–memories of my teenagerness in Florida. I miss Slurpees in Minnesota, and they don’t have any diet ones even for the knockoffs. I like the way you referenced the pic of the straws laid out and how they remind you of highways.

  5. Sip Sip
    Through the straw
    Drip Drip
    Down my maw
    Slip Slip
    All gone- Aw!

Didn’t realize 15WOL was still going on through the riddles 🙁 whoops! Glad I found it! Hope everyone has a good Easter!

    1. Glad you did, too! You’re not the only one, I’m sure, as lots of people are missing. Love the fun rhyme and the ending Aw:>)

  11. Hey, Laura. It just dawned on me that I practically copied yours. So let’s try this again.

    Toothpaste

    Spearmint
    Cinnamon
    Bubble gum, too
    Some so tasty
    You want to chew.
    Or not.

  13. Can’t help but wonder
    with today’s turmoil
what would a straw poll show?

    1. Oh boy. Good question. We have no issues simple enough for straw polls these days, I don’t think…

  15. 15 WORDS OR LESS

    STRAW MAN (A NEW SUPERHERO)

    Parched land
    is quenched
    By liquid currents
    heading northbound
    faster than a
    Volcanic eruption.

    1. Ha! Who knew a simple straw could be so heroic! I like the land/water metaphors!
