Aw, my friends, thank you so much for your lovely responses to my guilt-ridden post last week.
I’m so far behind still, but I’m at least tossing out my second tricube. Here again is that set of first drafts that I ended up mixing up lines between the poems to create new poems.

And in honor of my wedding anniversary last week and Valentine’s Day this week, I’m sharing this tricube. So much lately has been about the sudden, deep realization of the need to say things. Out loud. With passion. So this little oddity came forth :>D And with this in mind, I want to say how much I love you, my wonderful Poetry Friday community. <3

The wonderful artist Robyn Hood Black has the Poetry Friday Roundup this week.

Teriffic TriCube. And I’m all swept away with your Hurricane lines!
Love YOU, too.
take good care in Winter’s dare… your fan,JAN
Ah, I love the explanation of your poem–”…the need to say things. Out loud. With passion.” Beautiful! “Like a shirt / shot from a / cannon…” indeed! It looks like you are having fun with your tricube puzzle poems. Happy anniversary and happy Valentine’s!
Wonderful feelings are in this, Laura, just because you wrote of “the need to say things”, then did! It’s something I hope readers will take away and hold close this special and loving Poetry Friday! Happy Anniversary one more time!
Dear Laura, Hope this is a better week for you filled with love. Each of your tricubes inspires me so. Its fascinating to see how much can be said in so few words if you are willing to take the time. I could just see the hurricane dancing across the water, such a great metaphor. Your two “Unsaid Things” tell a whole story arc in their words, and I feel a bit of resolution in the last line ending with “I love you.” Bravo.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Laura — and anniversary, too! Thank you for always being so candid. And creative. I love your LOVE shout-out, and wish you a heart full this weekend. (Those hurricane images are spot-on, from one who grew up in Fla., lived on the SC coast, and watched Helene pulverize the mountains here year before last.) xo
I love this post so much. How you threw out three perfect tricube poems and then for dessert, a sweet Valentine!
Happy anniversary. I do love a poem with a t‑shirt cannon!
Laura, I love the image of the hurricane, how it doesn’t have to stay with its footprint. It speaks to me.
Love and peace to you this Valentine’s weekend and always, Laura. Your tricubes say a lot in just a few words. Thank you.
“So much lately has been about the sudden, deep realization of the need to say things. Out loud. With passion.”
Oh, SO TRUE! Thanks for everything you say out loud, and thanks for being part of this amazing Poetry Friday community!
Nice! I especially love the hurricane one, Laura! xo
You always seem to capture “the feelz,” Laura — like a tee shirt shot out of a cannon! That is a great defintion of the word “gasp!”
“So much lately has been about the sudden, deep realization of the need to say things. Out loud. With passion.” Yes! Thank you for speaking up and for showing up.
Hello, dear Laura, there on the front lines. Any of us with HRR (hyperactive responsibility reaction and no that’s not a real thing and yes it’s a real thing), any of us paying attention, are feeling overwhelmed right now–how to protect our neighbors, our democracy, and also our sanity, our needed routines. You are there in it and still finding ways to play, to create, to protect! I love the idea that you could roll out a bunch of tricube lines and then remix them…in fact I’m beginning to envision a game with cubes I mean dice! And I love thinking of you putting on that shirt of love and wearing it for 38 years. I’m glad it still fits. <3

Ah, how love changes over time. Perfection.
Also, you must know this, but I’ll say it out loud and with passion — we love you back!
Your poem is perfect, Laura. It would be so good to have up for Poetry in the Halls. I gave my husband some Legacy Chocolates yesterday (from St Paul). A box of truffles, bark, and Potion #9. He loves them so much I think I will ask for them for my birthday. Have you had them? xo
Happy Valentine’s Day and Anniversary, dear friend Laura. Your last tricube is a genuine heartnote. Since I missed your post last week, I am heading there now.
